Busy Holiday Season

I haven't posted in a while, but I'm back! I had a basketball tournament in Tennessee with my school basketball team before Christmas, I had to run some errands and get last minute Christmas presents on Christmas Eve, and celebrate my brother's birthday on Christmas Eve as well.

Christmas was great for me! How was Christmas for you guy?

Wow, it's 2013 already! I'm excited to see what this year will bring but here are a couple things that I'm looking forward too.
I'm graduating from high school this year.
I have a chance to make the USA Basketball team for my age group one again.
More great YouTube videos and Blogs to post.
Heading off to college.
Becoming a Division 1 athlete.
Meeting new people and much more. What are you guys looking forward too?

Goodbye 2012. Hello 2013!

The year is winding down quickly and some of you might be attempting to put together your New Years Resolution list. I'm doing the same, but I'm not a fan of these lists. Why you ask? Well, why should people have to wait until the New Year to make necessary changes in their lives. January 1st is no different than July 13th or any other date. Also, most people don't stick to their resolutions. The most common one is, "I'll get in shape". I've seen it all before, the LA Fitnesses, Lifetimes, and other gyms all across America are overflowing with people trying to become members, but within 4 months over half of those people have found excuses or lost their motivation to get in the gym.
I know that I sound quite cynical but you can't say that you haven't noticed these trends too.
This year when you make New Years Resolutions don't make them just to make then. Make them with a purpose and have a plan of how you are going to achieve your goals. Make sure these goals are of importance yo you, and I'm sure if you do that and have a little motivation/ determination to achieve your goals I'm almost positive that you will.

For the Nail Polish Fanatics...

There is nothing like finding the perfect nail polish. Whether it's the right color, shade, consistency, or whatever you are looking for, when you find the right one it feels good. Well, for me a polish that has come close to perfect is the Revlon Enamel nail polish.

I was walking through Target one day with no intentions of buying nail polish but stumbled over the Revlon Enamel in Vixen, a deep burgundy color, in the clearance cosmetics section. It's winter time and I was lacking a dark red so I decided to pick it up. I can easily say it was worth the spontaneous splurge.

Not only is this nail polish extremely versatile, but it lasts so long. First off, it is versatile because if you put on one coat it's not opaque, but it gives off this gorgeous rosy pink color that is flattering on all skin tone. But when you add a second coat, you get the burgundy red color that you see when the polish is in the bottle. Secondly, it lasts forever, and in this case forever means 2 weeks. That's pretty long for a nail polish, especially considering that I normally have to re-paint my nails every 4 days. Think about how much time and money this product will save you.
Before purchasing this product I had never considered buying Revlon nail polish, but from now on I will be sure to stop by their cosmetics area and check out the other nail polish colors Revlon has to offer. So next time you are in the store check out the Revlon Enamel nail polish display and take a few home, I'm sure you won't regret it!

DIY: Peppermint Candy Cane Sugar Scrub

If you are a little short on cash and want to make presents for your friends this holiday then I have an idea for you. In order to make this peppermint candy cane sugar scrub, all you need is 2 cups of white granulated sugar, 1/3 cup of almond oil, red food coloring, mint or peppermint extract, a jar, label and pretty ribbon of your choice. Sounds simple enough, right? Candy Cane Eye Makeup

Little Kids

I thought I knew what I was getting into when I told my basketball coach that I would help her run her Holiday Hoopla camp for little kids today. I arrived at 8am, parked my car, and walked inside. I was expecting to work with 25-30 kids today. "It's only a holiday camp," I thought. "There can't be too many kids there," I said. As I opened car door after car door and kids start jumped out one after the other I realized that there were definitely going to be more than 30 kids. When it was all said and done there were 75 kids at the camp! 75! We did holiday arts and crafts, swam, played in the gym, made holiday treats, and watched our schools boys varsity basketball team play. Lets just say that when it was finally time for carpool at 3pm I was more than exhausted. I love little kids, but today I realized that I can only handle them in small numbers or a lot in small doses.
